Automating 3D Web Assets with AI and Blender

the gist
Use AI agents to generate 3D assets in Blender and export them as interactive Three.js components for web hero sections.
Design and Prototyping
Instead of manual modeling, use an AI agent like Claude Code or Codex to generate a series of concept images based on a specific aesthetic prompt. This allows for rapid iteration on the visual style before committing to 3D geometry. The process involves prompting the agent to create a gallery of variations for a hero section, such as a robotic or abstract sculpture, to establish the desired look and feel.
Automated 3D Asset Creation
Once a design is selected, instruct the AI agent to generate the 3D asset directly in Blender. The agent uses scripting and computer-use capabilities to manipulate the Blender interface programmatically. Users can iterate on the output by requesting specific modifications, such as adding light effects or changing geometry, and can preview the asset as a Three.js construct to verify how it will appear on the web before finalizing the model.
Web Integration and Optimization
After finalizing the 3D asset, the agent builds the web page structure, integrating the model as an interactive Three.js component that responds to scroll events and mouse movement. For production, the agent must be prompted to optimize the asset for mobile devices, which includes techniques like pausing rendering when the element is off-screen and serving static images on lower-end hardware to maintain performance. The final site can be deployed using built-in hosting tools provided by the AI development environment.
